Mission:The Community Design Commission develops a continuous program to enhance the aesthetic quality of life in the Village of Oak Park. Its tasks and projects include providing design advice, developing resource material to aid in private property development, in addition to hearing requests for sign regulation variations. The commission also makes recommendations about selection, planting, maintenance, and removal of trees and shrubs within the Village of Oak Park, and also provides public educational and informational programs on matters pertaining to urban forestry.
Membership: 11 members
Qualifications: At least six of the members shall be trained as design professionals and at least two members shall be trained in urban forestry or horticulture. The remaining members can be from other backgrounds and professions, provided they share an interest in the work of the commission.
Length of Term: 3 years
