When applying, please be aware that there are three types of short-term rental licenses:

  1. Owner Occupied/Resident
  2. Non-Owner Occupied/Resident
  3. Non-Owner Occupied/Non-Resident

An application fee of $50 is added to all new business license fees, including short-term rental licenses.

Application process

After applying for a license through the Village View portal, a Village property maintenance inspector will contact the short-term rental operator to schedule an inspection of the property. An inspection is required as part of the ordinance.

Upon passing the inspection, a Village of Oak Park short-term rental license will be issued to the short-term rental operator. The license is required to be displayed in the front entrance area of the rental unit.
