Friday, May 14, 2021  ::   With local COVID-19 vaccination rates climbing and the number of cases trend down, Oak Park moved into the Bridge Phase of the Restore Illinois reopening plan, which includes expanded capacity for businesses, dining, offices, events, conferences and gatherings.
Wednesday, May 12, 2021  ::   The Oak Park Public Health Department will partner with Walgreens to host a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine community clinic from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sat., May 22 in the field house at Oak Park River Forest High School. The clinic is open to anyone age 12 or older.
Tuesday, May 11, 2021  ::   The Oak Park Farmers’ Market returns for its 46th season on Sat., May 22, back in its regular location in the Pilgrim Church parking lot at 460 Lake St., one block west of Ridgeland Avenue.

Monday, April 26, 2021  ::   A public health professional with a PhD in epidemiology has been selected to be the new director of the Oak Park Department of Public Health. Theresa D. Chapple-McGruder, Ph.D., is scheduled to assume her new role in Oak Park on May 3.
Saturday, April 10, 2021  ::   A 26-year-old Chicago man has been charged in connection with the shooting of an Oak Park Police officer during a traffic stop Thursday morning (April 8) on Harlem Avenue by the Eisenhower Expressway. The officer has since been released from Loyola Medical Center and is recovering at home with his family
Tuesday, March 30, 2021  ::   Oak Park’s vaccine pre-registration form has begun collecting information from all residents 16 and older who want to get in line for a local COVID-19 vaccination clinic. Residents also are urged to consider all vaccination site options.
Friday, March 19, 2021  ::   Oak Park’s online vaccine pre-registration form will begin gathering information from residents who qualify under the state’s latest expansion of Phase 1b eligibility, including workers in government, higher education, news media and restaurants.
Thursday, March 18, 2021  ::   Oak Park Fire Chief Tom Ebsen will retire next month after nearly 41 years of service to the community. Village Manager Cara Pavlicek selected current Deputy Fire Chief Ron Kobyleski to serve as Interim Fire Chief while recruitment for a new Chief is conducted.
