Monday, December 30, 2013  ::   With limited exceptions, carrying a concealed firearm is prohibited in public buildings and gatherings, including schools, parks, playgrounds and government buildings such as Village Hall.

Tuesday, December 17, 2013  ::   Oak Park Police are stepping up enforcement against driving under the influence and violations of seat belt requirements with additional officers on the street overnight.
Tuesday, December 10, 2013  ::   The Village has specific rules that govern parking when it snows to ensure streets can be properly plowed. When a snow emergency is declared, all parking is prohibited on the main streets posted as snow routes. Parking on other streets is restricted to one side.
Wednesday, December 4, 2013  ::   A veteran public servant with two decades of experience in law, housing and development grants – most recently at the Village of Oak Park – has been tapped to head up the newly re-organized department to deliver development and customer services.
Monday, December 2, 2013  ::   The new program, which began after Thanksgiving, will let anyone park free for two hours at a meter or in a pay-by-space lot on Saturdays before Dec. 25. Parking always is free on Sunday.
Wednesday, November 20, 2013  ::   Oak Park has dispatched two forestry technicians and a mechanic from the Public Works Department to join in the cleanup efforts in Washington, Illinois, just east of Peoria. The town is in the midst of a large-scale cleanup following a Nov. 17 tornado.
Friday, November 15, 2013  ::   Oak Park Police will be out in force through the Thanksgiving holiday arresting drunk drivers and ticketing anyone in a vehicle who is not wearing a seat belt.
Tuesday, November 12, 2013  ::   A recent series of late night burglaries of single-family houses has Oak Park Police urging residents to take special precautions to ensure their homes are secure. At least five burglaries have occurred since late October and two attempted burglaries have been confirmed in what appears to be a pattern.
Monday, November 11, 2013  ::   Working with first responders, the team will play a critical role in assisting the Red Cross and other relief organizations in the event of an actual emergency.
