Tuesday, February 5, 2019  ::   Three juveniles from Chicago have been charged in connection with a vehicle hijacking that occurred at about 6 p.m., Mon. in the 800 block of North Boulevard in Oak Park. The suspects crashed the stolen vehicle and fled on foot, but were quickly apprehended. No injuries were reported.
Tuesday, February 5, 2019  ::   With the area's first ice storm in nine years predicted for tonight, Village Hall will close to the public at 5 p.m. and cancel all scheduled meetings. Public Works crews will be salting streets overnight and through the Wednesday morning rush.
Tuesday, February 5, 2019  ::   An amnesty program underway through April 4 will give anyone with outstanding Oak Park parking citations prior to 2018 an opportunity to pay their tickets and avoid any late fees or future collection efforts. Online payment offers the easiest and quickest method.

Thursday, January 24, 2019  ::   The Oak Park Police Department is on the lookout for suspicious pickup trucks that may be driven by suspects dressed in work clothes who are running a common repair scam and burglary ruse.
Wednesday, January 23, 2019  ::   An incident that began in Chicago ended in Oak Park with the apprehension of two men running through a neighborhood, one carrying a rifle. Both men were taken into custody and turned over to Chicago Police. No injuries were reported and no shots were fired in Oak Park.
Tuesday, January 22, 2019  ::   With freezing rain and snow expected to create hazardous travel conditions, all meetings scheduled for tonight at Village Hall have been canceled, including the regular meeting of the Village Board.
Thursday, January 3, 2019  ::   Interim Police Chief LaDon Reynolds, a 24-year-veteran of the Oak Park Police Department, has been selected as the new Chief of Police. A swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m., Tues., Jan. 8, at Village Hall.
Wednesday, December 19, 2018  ::   The Village of Oak Park has revoked the business license for Sunny Spa, 1053 Madison St. The business was ordered closed permanently in a decision issued today by Assistant Village Manager Lisa Shelley following an administrative hearing held on Mon., Dec. 17 at Village Hall, 123 Madison St.
