Ridgeland Common groundbreaking…The Park District of Oak Park will break ground on the site of the new Ridgeland Common at 9 a.m., Sat. March 9, near Ridgeland Avenue and Lake Street. The Park District’s flagship facility will undergo complete reconstruction, including expansion of the ice rink to official size, new locker rooms and new sports field with synthetic turf, lighting and fencing. Residents who want to learn more about the project — including the schedule — are invited to a preconstruction meeting scheduled for 7 p.m., Tues., March 5, at Cheney Mansion, 220 N. Euclid Ave.
Registration changes…With the closing of Ridgeland Common for renovation, program registration will be available from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturdays, beginning March 9; 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays; and 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m., Fridays, at the John L. Hedges Administrative Center, 218 W. Madison St. Registration also is available anytime at www.pdop.org.
