The Oak Park Fire Department offers a variety of life-saving classes including CPR and training in how to use an automated external defibrillator, or AED. Classes are held from 6 – 10 p.m. at the Department’s certified American Heart Association community training center in the main fire station, 100 N. Euclid Ave. All courses are taught by an AHA-certified instructor. Classes are $25 for Oak Park residents and $50 for non-residents, in addition to a $12 textbook fee. In-person registration at least two weeks prior to the date of the desired course is recommended. The 2013 class schedule is posted at www.oak-park.us/fire.
