Artists are being sought to temporarily display their work at the sixth annual Oak Park Sculpture Walk set for May through September. At least 12 works will be part of the outdoor exhibit in the Oak Park Arts District on Harrison Street between Austin Boulevard and Ridgeland Avenue. At the conclusion of the event, the Village may consider purchasing a piece for its permanent collection. Applications may be downloaded at www.oakparkareaartscouncil.org or www.oak-park.us/sculpturewalk. The deadline to apply is March 24. Mural artists needed…Twelve artists are being sought to create murals that will continue the transformation of the railroad retaining walls along the Green Line corridor from dull, blank concrete into canvases. Each artist selected receives a stipend for materials prior to beginning the project and another sum upon completion. The deadline to apply for the first six slots is Fri., April 21. The concepts for another six artists will be selected in June. The deadline to apply for the second round will be Mon., June 19.
