Update: 13 of 15 missing Hertz rental cars found
April 2, 2018 - Oak Park Police have found 13 of the 15 cars reported stolen from the Hertz facility at 629 Madison St.
Two of the 15 cars originally reported stolen were determined to have been rented prior to the incident. Of the 13 vehicles believed stolen, 11 have been recovered, the most recent one found in Broadview today. Vehicles also were found over the weekend in Chicago and Oak Park.

Update: Nine of 15 missing Hertz rental cars found
March 30, 2018 - Eight of the 15 rental cars reported stolen from the Hertz facility at 629 Madison St. were recovered today. Another car originally reported stolen was located, but had been rented.
The eight recovered cars were taken to the Oak Park Police Department to be processed by an evidence technician. The investigation is continuing.

March 29, 2018 – Oak Park Police are investigating the overnight theft of 15 rental cars from the Hertz facility at 629 Madison St.
An employee at the Hertz Oak Park location told Police she arrived at work at about 7:30 a.m. today to find the glass window of the front door broken, the key storage box forced open and the keys taken.
The lock to the rear security gate of the parking lot had been cut and the vehicles were gone, she reported.
According to the employee, the business closed at approximately 6:30 p.m., yesterday.
The value of the stolen vehicles has not been established.
