April 4, 2018 – Oak Park Police are investigating a burglary turned home invasion after a woman found a man inside her house this afternoon in the 1100 block of South Lombard Avenue.
The victim told Police she was confronted by a man at about 4:45 p.m. as she entered her back door after parking her vehicle in the garage.
She said the man grabbed her from behind, demanded money and took cash from her purse and jewelry. He then ransacked several rooms before fleeing.
The victim was not injured and the value of the cash and items taken has not yet been determined.
The suspect is described as African American in his 20s, with a medium complexion. He was wearing a black knit cap, black jacket, black pants and gray gloves.
