Thursday, December 30, 2021  ::   The Oak Park Department of Public Health announced that proof of vaccination will be required for patrons of dining, fitness and entertainment facilities in Oak Park effective Jan. 10. The public health order largely mirrors similar vaccine requirements set to go into effect in surrounding communities.

Tuesday, November 23, 2021  ::   A mid-morning fire in the 1000 block of Lake Street severely damaged two buildings and caused smoke damage to three other structures. A firefighter sustained a minor injury but no patrons, employees or customers were injured.
Monday, November 22, 2021  ::   Oak Park Fire Department veteran Ronald Kobyleski has been named the new Fire Chief. Kobyleski, who joined the Village in 1985, has held every rank in the Fire Department, including Interim Chief, Deputy Chief, Battalion Chief and Training Officer.
Thursday, November 18, 2021  ::   The Oak Park Police Department is joining law enforcement agencies across the state by participating in a safety campaign reminding drivers to Click It or Ticket and Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, during what is expected to be one of the busiest travel times of the year.
Friday, November 12, 2021  ::   A 44-year-old Elmwood Park man was charged with driving under the influence after his vehicle crashed into Barnards Schwinn Cyclery, 6109 North Ave. The building sustained substantial damage and likely will need to be demolished.
