May 25, 2018 - Diversity and community involvement will be celebrated at the 45th annual A Day in Our Village festival Sunday, June 3.
More than 150 information and activity booths representing Oak Park civic, cultural, social service, educational, religious and business organizations will fill Scoville Park at Lake Street and Oak Park Avenue from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Other highlights include live performances throughout the day on the Scoville Park Stage and a food court featuring local restaurants. The popular Charity Dunk Tank will be in operation from 1 to 4 p.m., with proceeds benefitting local charities.
This year’s music entertainment features a rock and R&B theme. The Silvertones start things off at 11 a.m., followed by a performance by District 97's C.A.S.T. at 11:45 a.m. The Cubes take the stage at noon, followed by Char & Covington Groove at 1 p.m., Ovation Academy for the Performing Arts at 1:45 p.m., The Chicago Catz at 2 p.m., Illficial Reggae Movement at 3:30 p.m. and Bruce Henry at 4:30 p.m.
Rehm Park and Pool, located at Garfield Street and East Avenue, will also offer a wide array of activities from 1 to 6 p.m., with $5 wristbands providing unlimited access to classic carnival rides, games, interactive inflatables, refreshments and more. The Rehm Park hand-powered trains and playground are among the free activities being offered in Rehm Park.
A free shuttle bus will provide transportation between Scoville Park and Rehm Park from 1 to 5 p.m.
