Thursday, March 23, 2023  ::   Artists are being sought to create murals that will continue the transformation of the railroad retaining walls along the Green Line corridor from dull, blank concrete into canvases as part of the Oak Park Area Arts Council's Mini-Mural program.
Tuesday, March 21, 2023  ::   The 2023 construction season is getting underway with a major improvement project along Division Street, the latest in a series of much-needed upgrades to main thoroughfares in the community. Roosevelt Road is the site of another upcoming construction project managed by IDOT.
Friday, March 17, 2023  ::   A ComEd transformer failure earlier today sent a power surge into the Village of Oak Park's Central Pumping Station. This power surge triggered one of the pumps in the station to ramp up to 100 percent power, approximately 10 percent higher than normal. The Village is currently experiencing two water main breaks.
Tuesday, March 14, 2023  ::   As of June 1, 2025, no gasoline-powered leaf blower may be operated in Oak Park at any time. There are limited exemptions for Police and Fire personnel responding to an emergency or to clear fallen trees and provide emergency clearance for public safety. The use of portable generators to power electric leaf blowers, or to recharge batteries, will also be prohibited.
Tuesday, March 14, 2023  ::   Suburban Cook County voters can cast an early ballot for the April 4, 2023 Consolidated Municipal Election from March 20 through April 3 at Village Hall. The consolidated municipal election includes races for local governing agencies, including three seats on the Village Board of Trustees.
Monday, March 13, 2023  ::   Marcella Bondie Keenan, AICP, LEED AP, has been elevated to the role of Chief Sustainability Officer for the Village of Oak Park, Village Manager Kevin Jackson announced. She has guided the development of the Climate Ready Oak Park plan that was adopted in 2022.
Friday, March 10, 2023  ::   Oak Park Police investigated 238 more crimes in 2022 than in 2021, pushing the overall crime rate up about 11 percent, according to data compiled by the Police Department for the FBI’s National Incident Based Reporting System.
